Prof. K. Prasad Rao has been elected as Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering during the year 2011.
Prof. T.S. Sampath Kumar has been elected as Fellow, Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (FBAO) at the 25th Anniversary of the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (India) during February 10-12, 2011 at Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanager.
Prof. K. Prasad Rao has been conferred the first "Prof. D.R.G. Achar Distinguished Academician Award" by the Indian Welding Society. The award lecture was delivered by him during the International Conference on Advances in Cutting, Welding and Surfacing (CWS 2011) during January 22 - 23, 2011 held at Coimbatore. Indian Welding Society instituted this award in the memory of Prof. D.R.G. Achar who was a patron of the Chennai Center of the society and a pioneer in the area of welding.
Prof. S. K. Seshadri has been honoured with the LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - 2010 by NACE International Gateway India Section ( NIGIS ) . The award was presented to him during CORCON-2010 , International conference and expo on corrosion, held in Goa between 23-26 September 2010.
Prof. K. Prasad Rao has been elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Indian Welding Society. He was presented the award during the International Welding Symposium IWS2K10 held at Mumbai on February 10, 2010.

Dr. N.V. Ravi Kumar has been selected for the “IEI Young Engineers Award” in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering discipline for the year 2010. The award will be presented at the Inaugural Session of the Twenty-third National Convention of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers to be held at the premises of West Bengal State Centre, The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata on January 15, 2010.
The IITM - Summer Fellowship Programme for two months duration with fixed stipend of Rs.6,500/- is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high quality academic research among young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students through a goal oriented summer mini-project to be undertaken in different departments of this Institute.
Dr. N.V. Ravi Kumar has been selected for the Dr. R.L. Thakur Memorial Award 2008 by the Indian Ceramic Society, Kolkata as a recognition of his valuable contribution to the field of Materials Engineering. The award was presented during the inaugural function of the society's 72nd annual session to be held at B.M. Birla Science and Technology Centre, Jaipur. The award consists of a silver plaque of honour and citation.
